Jewelry Savers to move to Regency Lakes at 21st and Greenwich

Since Jim and Norma Ellis founded Jewelry Savers 44 years ago, it’s been in theSunnybrook Shopping Center at the southwest corner of Lincoln and Rock Road.

“Obviously, the area has changed,” says Mark A. Payne, who is vice president and general manager.

So current owner Kim Ellis Brier, the Ellises’ daughter, is moving the store to Regency Lakes at the northwest corner of 21st and Greenwich. It will be between Blue River Mexican Grill and Mode, a new clothing store, in the strip center in front of Cabela’s.

“It is, you know, to us, the 44-year-ago location of today,” Payne says. “Seems like the place to be for the next 44 years.”

The store will be 1,660 square feet, which is slightly larger than the store’s current 1,470 square feet.

Payne says there will be new additions to the store, including Roman Jewels, “which gives us quite a little bit of exposure. It’s just a fantastic addition to the store.”

In addition to lines that will be new to the market, Payne says, “Some of the lines that we’re adding will be new to the U.S.”

The store also has added a couple of 3-D printer artists.

“It simply means that we perform magic,” Payne says. “All you have to be able to do is dream it (and) walk in the door with a picture. Whatever you can simply imagine is the easiest way for me to say we can turn it to jewelry.”

He says Jewelry Savers has a hand craftsman on staff, too.

“The jewelry design at Jewelry Savers is endless,” Payne says. “We don’t know the word, ‘No.’”

The store likely will move in the middle of September or early October.

Ken Saville of Landmark Commercial Real Estate handled the deal for the new space.

Payne, who likes to point out how well his middle initial goes with his last name, says the “very busy” Jewelry Savers is all about fun.

As if to prove it, he stands talking on his cellphone just outside the store, with nine canary diamonds in one hand and some chocolates in the other.

“That’s what we do, hon.”
